This Baw Beese Lake waterfront property in Hillsdale is a new build collaboration between Giraffe Design Build and Disbrow Iannuzzi Architects. The home boasts innovative use and a timeless aesthetic. Intentionally designed as a multi-generational family’s getaway retreat, this lake house shows three independent living areas that can function either as one cohesive home or separate enclaves.

The interior design features an open concept kitchen, stone fireplace, and wood beams in combination with modern elements to provide a restorative space. Large windows throughout the home seamlessly blend indoor comfort with outdoor spaces, framing the scene for hosting family on the expansive deck.

The Baw Beese Lake house was thoughtfully constructed to minimize its environmental impact. The home is heated by hydronic radiant heat - which eliminates the need for gas furnaces - and utilizes a unique high-performance insulation made from sheep’s wool for temperature and moisture control without toxic materials. High-performance windows, shou sugi ban siding, and a steel roof contribute to an impressive aesthetic while reducing maintenance requirements.
