BRIEF

High energy-efficiency with low energy consumption makes this home sustainable by design. Carefully sited and built into a natural berm, the south facing wall of high SHGC (Solar Heat Gain Coefficient) windows allows the sunlight to warm the concrete floors for passive solar gain. The extended roof overhang clips the sunlight during summer months when the sun’s trajectory is high, keeping the house cool during the hottest times of the year. The eco-friendly, 50 year metal roof protects this modern, open-concept, family home.
