BRIEF
This Ann Arbor Hills family sought a relaxed yet sophisticated kitchen design that respected the original 1950’s mid-century ranch aesthetic. They opted to keep the galley-style layout for its efficiency and relationship to the adjacent dining and mudroom spaces.
Durable and sustainable materials were selected to withstand a family of four avid cooks, who all help prepare meals throughout the day. FSC certified rift-sawn, white oak custom cabinets were used on both the upper and lower cabinets complimented with solid surface countertops and a porcelain tile backsplash. The existing wood floors were refinished to their natural state and sealed with a durable water-based matte finish to protect them from dents and spills.
