BRIEF
These Ann Arbor Hills grandparents love the home they raised their children in and wanted to add more space for extended visits with their grandchildren, who all live out of state. This modest addition evolved from two small, second-story bedrooms and became a large convertible bedroom that sleeps a family of five, a secondary guest bedroom and a new bathroom.
Neatly scribed into the perimeter of both bedrooms are built-in bookshelves and toy storage. The larger bedroom has custom built-in bunks beds and a day bed with a trundle. The cabinetry highlights the geometry of the addition’s new roofline. Our designers mixed warm woods and subtle grays, and added windows that capture the home’s natural light throughout the day.
