Built for a large family with a strong connection to Asian culture, architect Keith Fineberg’s modern, metal home on Cavanaugh Lake is a marvel of sustainable building and living. It’s impossible to miss this bold, red home situated just off the main road and less than 100’ from the lakeshore.
Carefully placed skylights above define the home's axis. The lower level sleeping quarters and family room have framed waterfront views with large, oversized windows.
Strong in form and color, the low sloped home is carefully situated on-site, allowing the surrounding landscape to blur the lines between built and organic forms. As the builder of this home, we welcomed the opportunity to use durable, green materials including Richlite siding, harvested, reclaimed white oak flooring, FSC certified cabinetry, and concrete floors on the lower level.

“As the architect, I wanted a Builder who had the sophistication and capability to craft crisp, minimalist architectural detail. My Client was keen on that too but also wanted a Builder who would monitor cost closely through the build process. Giraffe delivered exceptionally on all fronts. Not only that, the enthusiasm of the Owner, Martin Clarke, and all of the staff made the process of seeing it all come together a true joy. I cannot recommend Giraffe highly enough.”
