The defining characteristic is the inspired Japanese garden perspective, integrating the inside space with the outside yards. Building a new front entry and using subtle design elements to gracefully transform the visually disconnected kitchen and living space and incorporate the scenic outdoors with the serene warmth of a traditional Japanese aesthetic. Renovating and reusing the wooden fencing for privacy allowed using expansive windows to view the garden from any common area. Cypress is used throughout as a nod to the traditional Japanese temples built from cypress wood.
