The State of Michigan is allowing some construction to resume. We are happy to be back at work!As eager as we are to push ahead with our projects, everyone's safety is our front-and-center concern. Luckily, we have a plan in place to keep our clients, our team, and all crew members safe. With caution and optimism we are taking safety seriously, and The Giraffe Team will be following guidelines from the CDC, all requirements of the State of Michigan and Washtenaw County, as well as additional steps tailored specifically to the workflow of a residential construction project.
Each site has a designated supervisor, responsible for implementing enhanced COVID-19 safety measures.Each day begins with all team members taking their temperature at home, before leaving for work. If it's elevated they will stay at home, and probably go back to watching reruns of This Old House! If it's normal, they'll go to work.
Once on the job each Giraffe Team Member follows these steps:
Upon Arriving:
- Sanitize their hands
- Apply face mask
- Before entering a home:
- Spray shoes with sanitizer and/or wear booties
- Review site specific checklist and follow procedures
- Confirm entryway has masks, gloves, booties, and disinfectant for EVERYONE to use before entering.
Once inside:
- Disinfect all surfaces & tools
- Determine how & where team members will be working to ensure social distancing
At end of the work day:
- Wipe down all surfaces & tools
- Check supplies and contact office with needs
- Sanitize hands and shoes before entering your vehicle
- Dream of the day we no longer have to do this!
But we don't stop there! Our clients are all about being safe and keeping us safe as well.
Before entering the work area, homeowners and visitors will:
- Wear a face mask
- Sanitize their hands
- Sanitize your shoes and/or put on booties
- Stay at least 6 feet from crew members at all times
Each site has designated entry and exits. At each entry are great posters to remind everyone.
